As December 5th is celebrated as a national holiday of father’s day in Thailand in remembrance of the birthday of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Since his death on the 13th of October 2016, this holiday acts as a way to honor and remembrance for the late King Rama XI, who passed away at the age of 88.

Over the course of his life, King Bhumibol was revered by Thai people both here in the Kingdom of Thailand as well as all across the world. His Majesty has long been recognized throughout the world and is the father of the current monarchy, King Maha Vajiralongkorn. Throughout his ascension to the crown and subsequent rule, King Rama XI has been viewed as the symbolic father of the Thai nation guiding an entire generation thru challenges by sharing hope and compassion.

Since his Royal Coronation in 1949, His Majesty King Rama IX had faced a wide variety of challenges and adversity during the post World War II setting. He helped guide his people thru numerous national catastrophes using his intelligence, fortitude, and compassion towards his 60 million subjects over the course of his seven-decade reign. Highly intelligent and filled with compassion for all people, his majesty initiated hundreds of royal projects including securing design patents for many of his inventions that were always dedicated to his focus for improving the lives of his people. It is his philosophy of self-sufficiency which still resonates today while continuing to better the lives of Thai people.

On behalf of the entire RWT family, we would like to wish everyone a Happy Fathers Day as we also pay respect and honor his majesty as we remember all those around us on this special day.
